Kukkiwon Taekwondo Demonstration Team (hereinafter referred to as ¡°the team¡±) will give on online performance titled ¡°Great Taekwondo: Hi Kick¡± for people around the world who suffer from difficulties due to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).

¡®Hi Kick¡¯ will be aired live through Kukkiwon YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/kukkiwonpr) at 11:00 on May 16 (Sat).

After seeking for a measure to help the people around the world under the situation that everyone is suffering from difficulties due to COVID-19, Kukkiwon determined to give the online performance.

Therefore, they also decided the name of the performance as ¡®Hi Kick¡¯ which is a combination of ¡®Hi¡¯ that expresses a greeting and ¡®Kick¡¯ that symbolizes Taekwondo with the message of ¡®Let¡¯s overcome COVID-19 with powerful Taekwondo kick¡¯.

The team will deliver a reassuring and hopeful message to global Taekwondo families as well as people around the world through the online performance.

To fully serve the purpose of ¡®Hi Kick¡¯, Kukkiwon determined to broadcast it at the time zone and on the day when not only Koreans but also people around the world can view easily.

The performance will be given in a form of demonstration for approximately 15 minutes by 24 team members without audience at Kukkiwon central gymnasium (stadium).

¡®Hi Kick¡¯ is a recreated work based on the actions that were unveiled at the opening ceremony of the PyeongChang WORLD TAEKWONDO HANMADANG 2019 and brought the public attention.

Kukkiwon will provide a variety of offering events to viewers during the performance.
